본 논문은 면역 신호로 인해 혈관이 망가지면서 섬유화가 진행되는 과정을 3차원 체외 모사칩 기술을 통해 재현하고 이를 TOX-RAGE 축 제어를 통해 치료 가능성을 보여준 연구입니다. 기존 섬유화 연구는 대부분 동물 모델이나 단순 세포 배양(2D)에 의존했기 때문에 면역세포와 혈관이 동시에 작동하는 실제 인간의 병리상황을 설명하는데 한계가 있었습니다. 특히 치료 타깃 검증단계에서 단순 모델의 한계/종간 특이성 차이가 있었습니다.
