  여러 외부요인에 반응하는 면역체계를 Innate Immune System이라고 하는데 저는 그 system중 가운데 Inflammasome이라고 하는 Multi protein complex를 연구하고 있습니다. Inflammasome은 여러 종류가 밝혀져 있지만 결과적으로 Interleukin 1 (IL-1)이라고 하는 cytokine을 만들어 내게 됩니다. 이 IL-1은 염증반응에 Key가 되는 cytokine으로 우리 몸을 방어하는 좋은 수단이지만 과도하게 발현이 되면 오히려 여러 질병을 일으키게 됩니다.
