Our study addresses the growing problem of diarrheal infections caused by multi-drug resistant Escherichia coli, particularly enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC). We introduce a dual-action therapeutic strategy combining bacteriophage therapy with bentonite, a natural clay mineral. While the phage EC.W2-6 efficiently eliminates bacterial populations, phage therapy in the gastrointestinal tract faces challenges such as acidic inactivation and the inflammatory release of toxins?specifically lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and outer membrane vesicles (OMVs)?during bacterial lysis.

본 논문은 직접 유도된 자연살해세포 (drNKs; directly reprogrammed NK cells)의 분비체 (secretome)를 활용하여, 세포 이식 없이 조직 재생과 상처 치유를 유도하는 새로운 cell-free 면역 재생 치료법을 제시한 연구입니다. 이 연구에서 사용된 drNK는 저희 연구팀이 이전에 발표한 Nature Biomedical Engineering (Kim et al., 2021) 논문 "Directly reprogrammed natural killer cells for cancer immunotherapy"에서 확립한 drNK 제조 기술을 기반으로 제작되었습니다.

현대 의생명과학은 비약적인 발전을 이루었지만, 여전히 완전히 극복하지 못한 영역 중 하나가 '노화'입니다. 인간은 포유류 중에서도 수명이 긴 편에 속해 노화를 연구하기에 제한이 많고, 특히 이미 노화가 진행된 개체나 세포를 실험실에서 안정적으로 확보하거나 유지하는 것 자체가 매우 어렵습니다. 이런 한계 때문에 특정 유전자의 기능 이상으로 나타나는 조로증(premature aging syndrome)이 노화 연구의 유용한 모델로 떠오르고 있습니다.

We developed a two-photon intravital imaging technique that combines tissue stabilization and computational super-resolution to visualize subcellular structures in vivo. Using 3D-printed holders for mechanical stabilization and applying SRRF-based image enhancement, we achieved submicron and algorithmic stabilization.
