본 논문은 유전자 교정 도구인 CRISPR/Cas9 system의 ribonucleoprotein (RNP)를 lipid nanoparticle (LNP)에 탑재하여 효과적인 세포 및 암 조직으로의 전달에 대한 연구입니다. CRISPR/Cas9을 전달하는 형태에는 크게 plasmid, mRNA, RNP 3가지로 나눠질 수 있는데, 이중 RNP가 off-target effect가 가장 적어 실제 유전자 치료에 적합한 형태입니다.

척수는 신체의 감각신경과 운동신경의 전기적 신호를 양방향으로 전달해 주는 중추신경계의 통로로서 물리적 외상에 의해 척수손상 (Spinal cord injury)이 발생하게 되면 일차적으로 신경세포의 결손이 생기고 2차 손상인 과도한 급성 염증반응 (Acute-inflammation)으로 손상 후 2주간에 걸쳐 Glial scar를 형성합니다.
