Abstract

In modern immunology, Ca²⁺ first emerged as a key determinant of T cell activation in the early 1980s. In 1984, Weiss et al. first reported that T-cell receptor (TCR) stimulation leads to a rapid increase in the cytoplasmic Ca²⁺ concentration.
