NIB42 monoclonal antibody는 주로 activated T cells 및 NK cells에서 생성되는 다기능성 cytokine인 human interferon gamma(IFN-γ)에 대해 특이적으로 반응합니다.
Interferon gamma는 항바이러스 및 anti-parasitic 특성을 지니며, macrophages, B 및 T lymphocytes, natural killer cells의 활성화, 성장 및 분화에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
또한 TNF-α 등 다른 cytokines와 시너지적으로 상호작용하여 정상 세포와 형질전환 세포의 증식을 억제합니다. NIB42 antibody는 IFN-γ를 중화합니다.
